Subject: re: Kathleen
Just another email regarding 88 year old Kathleen, the woman who waves at the ferries on the Gorge. We were out for our weekly walk today, to the Gorge about 10:30 a.m., and as luck would have it a wee ferry was making its way up the waters towards us. Kathleen started waving and not only did the kind skipper slow down and toot the horn, he also stepped out of the interior and shouted: “Good to see you Kathleen!” Well, if that skipper could have seen the grin on her face it would have made his day.
And he did the same thing on the return run and that was all Kathleen could talk about for the next little while…about the warmth and kindness of the skipper, and the impact of just taking a moment to be thoughtful and to reach out to a woman “closing in on 90 years.”
Many thanks, as always.
