Harbour Happenings – Summer in September

H20 Taxi

Have the seasons altered? All we can say at Victoria Harbour Ferries is WOW, it is gorgeously hot in Victoria. The best way to cool off and see the sights is on a Harbour Hop or tour. Get out and enjoy!

This is the penultimate weekend for the Ship’s Point Market. Over 40 artisans and music steps from downtown starting at 7pm. Don’t miss the other markets this weekend: Bastion Square on Thursday, Friday and Saturday starting at 11am, James Bay Market on Saturday from 9:30am to 33:30pm and Sunday Market in the Square from 11am to 4:30.

Beer Fest – (Tickets are Sold Out)

The Great Canadian Beer Festival has become one of the worlds’ must-attend beer events. People from all over the globe seek out Victoria and the GCBF every year; we get brewers from Australia, volunteers from England and beer lovers from all over. Our little annual beer festival first held in 1993 has blossomed into a truly international event.

The GCBF is held each year on the first weekend after Labour Day with over 55 craft breweries from across Canada and the USA and more than 8,000 happy people coming together in the beautiful city of Victoria to celebrate the diversity of the brewers’ craft.

As always, we will feature non-stop entertainment by local acts and once again there will be a fantastic selection of food offered by local restaurants and caterers.

Join us this year in Canada’s beer capital for lots of fun, sun and some really great beers!

Eat Here Now 2011 Harvest Festival
September 11, 11 am – 4 pm
This event is organized by the Victoria Downtown Public Market Society in support of the re-establishment of a year-round, indoor local produce public market for downtown Victoria.  Eat Here Now is a free, family-friendly festival taking place from 11 am – 4 pm in Centennial Square, featuring some of the best farmers, fishers, butchers, bakers, processors, and restaurants in the region.  To celebrate the craft of our food producers, there will be live music from local performers, farm animal viewing, a corn boil, a wild salmon roast, and local restaurants demonstrating how they make the best use of regional produce.  The purpose of Eat Here Now is to raise awareness, support, and funds for the return of a permanent downtown marketplace.

H2O Water Taxi

Since the launch of the new Water Taxi service in June we’ve had a fantastic response from local and visitor passengers. While Victoria Harbour Ferry will shut down for the winter later this autumn, we would like your feedback on keeping the Water Taxi in operation year round. Your input into our Survey is greatly appreciated.

Have a great weekend!
