Victoria Harbour Ferry - Hop On/Hop Off - Harbour Tours and Charters

The Victoria Harbour Ferry Company was founded in 1990 with just two ferry boats. Today we own and operate a fleet of 14 small 12 passenger ferries and two 40 passenger vessels.  Our vessels sail the waters around Victoria and Nanaimo inner harbours and the neighbouring waterways.  We travel over 60,000 kilometers a season in the harbour and complete over 90,000 stops a season in the harbour.
All but one of our ferry boats were built on Vancouver Island, all can travel at speeds of up to 7 knots (12.5 kilometers per hour or 8 miles per hour) and can carry up to 12 passengers plus the Captain. Several of our little ferry boats have traveled a distance the equivalent of one and half times around the equator without ever having left our harbours. Over the years we have carried over 2.5 million passengers and have become Victoria’s Number One Tourist Attraction.  In addition to our tour boats we operate charter vessels used for larger groups and events on both the Victoria and Nanaimo harbour waters.
Our Harbour Ferry Captains are local people with big hearts, big smiles and loads to share. They love to show locals and visitors alike all that Victoria has to offer… from the waterside viewpoint of our City. As they guide you through your tour, you’ll find our Harbour Ferry Captains pride themselves on being part- ferry skipper, part- historian and part-tour guide. Our Ferry Captains are all Transport Canada Certified.
